Thanksgiving & Trust!

First off HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!

Yesterday we had a great day, I got to be with the missionary that trained me! Today is even a better day because I am back with the missionary that I am assigned to work with right now, and it's Thanksgiving one of the best days of the year. Why do you think Thanksgiving is a great day? I love it well because there is good food, good football, great gatherings, and nobody watches their weight! However above all these great and wonderful things is the meaning of Thanksgiving and the holiday seasons. To me Thanksgiving is a time to... well give thanks. :) Give thanks to our wonderful mothers and fathers that though they may not be perfect, they are trying their hardest to be. (Mom & Dad I think y'all are as close to perfect as they come!) Give thanks to the people who give you a warm smile to spread the holiday cheer, and ultimately thanks be to God!

I have learned by serving others, over the last few years especially, that it is really God who has given us all these wonderful things to improve our lives. I have also learned that when we put our faith or full trust in him that he helps us recognize those little things in life that we truly love. I have been able to see this in my life and in those people who God has put in my path. I am so thankful that God loves me enough to put someone in my path to wave or say hi on a hard day, for him giving me things that I don't really need but that make my short stay here on earth a little more comfortable. I am so grateful that our loving Father in Heaven has given me a great family and a wonderful message to share! I am so grateful that he would give his son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth an die for our sufferings and sins so that we have someone who knows, truly knows how we feel and I know he has a plan to help everyone on earth. It's simple all we have to do is put our full trust in him, and he will do the rest! He will always, at least, send someone to cheer you up or help you out.

Are you going to be that person who will be God's servant to help someone or brighten one's day? I know after having this beautiful day of peace and rest that I will try harder to listen to him and trust him!

Working Hard Through Rain, Cold and Wind!

It is raining and about 38 degrees outside and we are on the bikes! I also wrecked my bike three days ago and my hand and arm are torn up a bit, the cold air hurts and burns. It is days like this one today that really test your faith; however, there is no better things than riding in the rain for such a good cause, Jesus! We are gettin' to brighten peoples day on such a rainy and southern cold day. So a little catch up on the life of a LDS missionary, this last weekend we got the opportunity to move a new family into our congregation. The move went well and no big dings in the furniture or the walls :). We are excited to have them here. The next day was Sunday so we went to church. We got up at 6:15 showered got ready and left for church at 7:15 all with my cuts and scrapes, my companion had to tie my tie and pick things up because I couldn't move my hand enough to tie it right. we went to church and had a meeting for an hour, went to church got to take the sacrament. The sacrament is like communion, blessed bread and water. I love going to church it always uplifts me for the whole week!
Well we are now on Monday, this is our day to prepare for the rest of the week. We got to play basket ball this week and we get to do our laundry every week, go shopping for food, write letters, most important Email family and friends, and fish. It was a day filled with fun.
Now Tuesday we got to have two lessons we rode our bikes in the rain to one and then we have the privilege to teach through Facebook! So we taught a good friend on there. I love being a missionary and having opportunities to bless others' days! Our message is so great and positive, it brightens people even when it is rainy and cold out side! I am trying to keep every one posted by blogging every Tuesday and Thursday!

Called to Serve And Doin' it Right! :)

Tonight we talked with one of our investigators, our mission president was present, and we taught him about repentance, forgiveness, and sacrifice! We asked him to be baptized and he said: "yes." We talked some more and promised him that he would feel the Holy Spirit more and more as he prepared. He lit up and started to smile and get excited! He is shooting for December. It is times like these that help me see that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to come closer to him. He wants us to make good choices so we appreciate the good things he gives us!
